Children for Sale

I am so glad that it is not every day that I sit across from a father with 3 children who proceeds to negotiate a deal for me to rent or purchase them.  This is what happened to us in Pattaya Thailand just a few days ago.  His young 14 yr old daughter, 6 year old son and 2 year old son were begging on the street when we took them to buy some food. He ran down the street after us wanting money for his children. We invited him to come with us and we would buy him food also.  We had not been sitting in the cafe for more than 5 minutes before he started to negotiate with us. He gave us a phone number and explained that if we wanted his children brought to the hotel room, our home, or studio that he could facilitate that and then suggested that if we wanted to buy his 14 year old daughter for life that he would sell her for 80,000 Baht (the equivalent of $28.00).

The children had evidence of abuse – cigarette burns on the baby’s face, burn marks on the chest of the 14 year old, scars and cut marks on the 6 year old and bruises on all of them.  The children sat there peacefully in the midst of their father negotiating the sale.  Oh my gosh!!!!

Please pray – we are in the midst of attempting intervention in this situation. We discovered that this family is from Poipet and we wold love to get the children back to Cambodia and care for them here.  The girl had explained to Malina that her parents sell her and her 6 year old brother to foreigners. Please pray!!!  These children are at risk.  We have a social worker invited into the process so it looks promising.

GARBAGE DUMP KIDS

We ministered at the garbage dump in Siem Reap yesterday and it was sad yet glorious. We led so many people to the Lord and wtinessed God’s healing power touch lives.  The children loved the food we brought and enjoyed the games we played with them. They were laughing and having so much fun.

God takes those found in the garbage dump and sets them amongst the princes of the earth. (see Psalm 113:7-8)

Patricia King: TIM TEBOW – A Child At Risk In The Womb

Recently, someone sent me this testimony and it made me cry…BTW… I really love Tim Tebow — pray for him!

Pam’s Story

In a recent email, I read about a woman named Pam, who knows the pain of considering abortion. More than 24 years ago, she and her husband Bob were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in contaminated food or drink. She went into a coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was pregnant.

Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. Pam said the doctors didn’t think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue.

While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: If you will give us a son, we’ll name him Timothy and we’ll make him a preacher.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987. Pam’s youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father’s ministry in the Philippines. He also plays football. Pam’s son is Tim Tebow.

The University of Florida’s star quarterback became the first sophomore in history to win college football’s highest award, the Heisman Trophy. His current role as quarterback of the Denver Broncos has provided an incredible platform for Christian witness. As a result, he is being called The Mile-High Messiah.

Tim’s notoriety and the family’s inspiring story have given Pam numerous opportunities to speak on behalf of women’s centers across the country. Pam Tebow believes that every little baby you save matters. I pray her tribe will increase!

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
